PSAT

Why administer the PSAT?

All students are required by the State of Indiana to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) in the spring of their Junior year.  The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) prepares students for the required SAT.  The PSAT helps Fremont High School identify students with academic talent and then encourage them to maximize their talent.  The PSAT also identifies academic areas in need of improvement, valuable information for the school, our students, and families.

Where, when, and How?

The PSAT is offered free of charge to all Indiana sophomores and juniors at Fremont High School  on October 25, 2022 starting at 8:00am.  Sophomores and juniors test in regular classrooms with Fremont teaching staff as proctors. The test takes just over three hours to complete.

What is happening now?

In the five days prior to testing, the math and English departments use flex time to review the PSAT booklet that every student receives.  This flex time acclimates students to the test and allows teachers to help students review what they have learned.  On the day before the test, Mrs. Miller will meet with students to preregister.

Moving forward:

Once students take the PSAT, they have an active College Board account that gives students and families access to their scores and resources to improve their results on the SAT.  Look for PSAT results in December.
