McKenzie Parnin was awarded a $1500 scholarship from Mercury Marine Corporation. This is a competitive scholarship based on her academics and written application. Awesome job, McKenzie!

Last night when I received the news that our referendum had failed, I had a ton of emotions. The first emotion was one of failure. I had failed Fremont Community Schools, the faculty, staff and students. We had spent a lot of time and effort on this referendum and it did not pass. We all knew that we faced an uphill battle with this referendum. From the confusing language on the ballot to already rising taxes because of increased assessed valuation. Those negative emotions quickly turned to planning our next steps. Yes, I am disappointed, frustrated, and irritated. At the same time I’m proud of our faculty, staff, students and our community. I am also still very proud to be the Superintendent at Fremont Community Schools. Nothing can take those positives thoughts away.
Even though the referendum failed, Fremont Community Schools will continue to be the best school district it can be. We might not be able to add the different programming we wanted to but we will continue to educate the students of Fremont Community Schools and strive for excellence. We will continue to have a wonderful school family, and we will continue be one of the best school corporations in the state.
We will put the referendum back on the ballot when we can. I am asking everyone to come together as we plan the next several years at Fremont Community Schools.

As a Fundraiser through Fremont High School Athletic Dept, we will receive a kick-back of the proceeds from this special. Spring is here and the golfers are ready to start playing. You can view the attached copy of courses on this Golf Pkg. Orders can be placed with Cal Stone, or Ashley Miller at FHS. Orders are due before May 8th and make checks payable to RO Sales, Inc for $74.99. The golf packages will be available to pick up on Monday, May 8th, and you can start using them immediately. Tickets are valid everyday of the week and also on weekends, unless otherwise stated on the package.
Please notice the participating courses on the package on the attached copy which includes: Zollner GC, Glendarin Hills GC, Heron Creek GC, Cedar Lake GC, Meadows Valley GC, MaxWelton GC, ND Burke & Warren GC, as well as 50 other courses you can play at.
*Remember that these passes can all be used at 1 or 2 courses, OR at all 55 courses.

Seeking School-based Attendance Mediators
Function: A school attendance mediator (SAM) will participate in mediation meetings between a student, family and school personnel when traditional attendance interventions have not been successful.
Specifics: A trained mediator can expect to facilitate between two and four mediation session per month. Each session will last approximately one hour. Mediation meetings will be scheduled by a mediation case coordinator and will be scheduled according to mediator availability. Mediators will be compensated at $30.00 per session. Training requirements: Virtual training dates are June 1, 8 and 15 from 7 pm to 9 pm. One in-person six- hour training is also required and is scheduled for June 17, 9 am -4 pm. Time spent in training will be compensated at $25 per hour.
Please note: school employees cannot mediate in their buildings.
